Sheriff: Man Wanted in Sherburne County Found with Handgun, Meth, Arrested in New Brighton
NEW BRIGHTEN -- Authorities say a man wanted in Sherburne County was arrested and found with meth and a handgun in Ramsey County Thursday.
Thirty-six-year-old, Juan Garcia-Morales had a warrant out for criminal vehicular homicide in Sherburne County. Sherburne County Sheriff Joel Brott says his office got a tip that Garcia-Morales was at an apartment building in New Brighton. Deputies saw Garcia-Morales leaving the building and arrested him. Officers say they found 22 grams of methamphetamine on Garcia-Morales as well as a loaded handgun.
Garcia-Morales was taken to the Ramsey County Jail. He's facing charges of 2nd degree drug possession and illegally having a gun. He's also awaiting his first court appearance in Sherburne County for his vehicular homicide charges.
