ELK RIVER -- Sherburne County commissioners and members of Metro Transit will talk about how to grow ridership on the Northstar Commuter Rail line. It comes on the heels of county administrator Steve Taylor's letter to Metro Transit citing declining ridership numbers.

Taylor says numbers are down significantly year-over-year. He says it's likely a result of delays and reliability concerns among riders.

Taylor says delays are likely a result of three things...a brutally cold winter that caused equipment problems, increased freight traffic and track upgrades.

Taylor says their goal is to try to promote Northstar and get ridership trends turned around.
