UPDATE: This event is happening this weekend - Saturday, July 27th if you would like to attend.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Purple Rain.  Movie is iconic.  I do remember when this movie came out in the 80s, and a friend of mine and I watched it over and over and over.  We were obsessed with it.  We were also kids, so that happens.

I also did have Prince posters all over my bedroom walls.  Do kids still do that?

Anyway, this year is the 40th anniversary of the movie Purple Rain, and not only are they releasing the movie again, but you will have an opportunity to see it on a big screen.  Not just a screen like at a movie theatre... that's a big screen, but how about a screen at Target Center???? Yes, this movie is going to be shown on a big... HUGE screen at Target Center's center court.

This event is being held on July 27th. It's a Saturday night, so luckily there is time to get to Minneapolis, maybe make a day of it, and check out the movie.  You do need tickets fo this event.  And it's not JUST the movie, there will also be items from the film on display.

From KARE 11:

"We are thrilled to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Purple Rain, a film that continues to resonate with audiences worldwide," said Prince's sister, Sharon L. Nelson, in a statement. "This event is a heartfelt tribute to Prince's unparalleled talent and the lasting impact of his artistry."

Tickets are pretty reasonable for this event.  They are just $19.99 (Get it)?  BUT if you want the VIP experience, that will cost more, but it is also available.

Tickets are available for $19.99 - priced in honor of Prince's popular hit of the same name. A special VIP experience is also available for $199.99.

You can order your tickets now using this link.

If you want more Prince related events, visit Paisley Park, as they always have events and memorabilia on display.
