ST. CLOUD -- Police were called to the scene of a burglary in St. Cloud late on Saturday night.

The incident happened at about 11:30 p.m. in the 6200 block of County Road 120. Police say they received a call saying someone appeared to be breaking into the detached garage unit to the apartment complex.

Police located a man matching the suspect's description walking away from the area. The suspect was detained as police conducted an investigation.

Officers later arrested the man, 31-year-old Jesse Knettel of Sauk Rapids, in connection to the burglary.

The investigation showed Knettel forced his way inside multiple garages using several screw drivers. Police say he was found in possession of the screwdrivers along with drug paraphernalia and a substance which tested positive for marijuana.

Knettel was taken to the Stearns County Jail, where he awaits charges of 3rd degree burglary, criminal damage to property, possession of burglary tools, possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
