ST. CLOUD -- A dental van offering free dental services will be at the St. Cloud Salvation Army this weekend.

Operation Grace MN will bring Lil' Flossie, an RV that travels to cities around the state offering free dental care, to town Friday and Saturday. The van came to St. Cloud last September and helped between 85-90 people with free exams, cleanings and, if necessary, fillings and extractions.

"Not everybody is covered by dental insurance and often times if you're not covered, you ignore an issue," says Jim Muellenbach, Community Development Director for the St. Cloud Salvation Army. "This is an opportunity for those less fortunate that don't have insurance to come in for [care]."

Muellenbach says aside from efforts by Operation Grace MN, the event is made possible by grants from Health Partners and CentraCare Health, individual donations, and the volunteer work by area dentists and hygienists.

"We would like to be able to cover everything, but it's not possible," Muellenbach says. "When we can get another service like this to come in to fill in some of the cracks, it just makes our program operate more efficiently."

Lil' Flossie will be at the Salvation Army (400 Highway 10 in St. Cloud) from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, and from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Appointments are necessary. To make one, call Brenda at (320) 257-7426.

Muellenbach says Lil' Flossie will make two more stops in St. Cloud this year -- in April and again in September.
