ST. CLOUD - The Salvation Army is getting ready for their annual bell ringing campaign, and they're looking for volunteers. The bell ringing campaign begins on November 13th.

Spokesman Jim Muellenbach says it takes a lot of people.

We start at 11:00 a.m. and go through 7:00 p.m. We need a lot of volunteers to do this. You know you take 23 locations times the eight hours a day, that's almost 3,000 hours that we're asking people to volunteer for.

Muellenbach says they ask volunteers to sign-up for a 2 hour shift.

At a good store with a lot of traffic we can make up to $75 an hour on a kettle that's attended. But, on a kettle that's not attended we won't take in anything.

Last year they collected $190,000. They're hoping to pass $200,000 this year.

Muellenbach says they have three main programs at the local Salvation Army: their 69-bed emergency shelter, the food shelf, and their community lunch program.

To volunteer you can either call the Salvation Army at 257-7437, or sign-up online.
