WAITE PARK -- Starting September 7th, the sorting and canceling of evening mail in the St. Cloud area will no longer be done at the Waite Park Processing Facility.

U.S. Postal Service spokesman Pete Nowacki says they are moving those operations to their Minneapolis facility as part of their streamlining of operations. Nowacki says no career employees will lose their jobs, however.

Nowacki says the streamlined operations are expected to save the U.S. Postal Service about $2-billion per year. He says mail volumes are down considerably and by combining operations they can run trucks that are more full and create other efficiencies.

Nowacki says customers shouldn't notice any difference in their mail delivery service.
