It's rapidly becoming prime pie season across the Midwest. In just a few weeks we will be serving up slices of pumpkin and apple pie with Thanksgiving, and then not to long after that it's the holidays and what are the holidays without a slice of French silk or pecan pie? If you are like me, and aren't great at baking, that's OK because you can find your favorite slices just down Highway 23 in St. Joesph at Kay's Kitchen.

Kay's Kitchen has more than 20 different pies that are baked regularly, and people from far and wide come in to purchase them for special events like birthdays, or like what we are coming up on, the holiday season.

If you head online to check out the review left, people love the breakfast, the portion sizes, and of course the pie. (Here's the link to Yelp)

Kay's Kitchen has been bringing people from across the state to St. Joesph for more than 50 years. What's been bringing people back week after week, and year after year, even after moving away from the area? Well, the food there is made the way it used to be, from scratch.

Kay's Kitchen opened up in 1972, with the idea of creating food the way people remembered growing up while also using 'locally sourced ingredients from our favorites vendors.' Flash forward 52 years later and the mission still seems to be the same. Create great-tasting food from scratch, using local ingredients.

Never been to Kay's Kitchen before? You can find it at 303 College Ave St Joseph, MN 56374- link opens in new tab.
