New Eatery Opens in Former Triple Crown Sweepstakes Store

ST. CLOUD -- A new eatery in St. Cloud has opened in the former location of a closed sweepstakes shop.

Lily's Wings & Things has opened inside the former Triple Crown Sweepstakes store that was raided and shuttered by state gambling officials last fall.

Lily's Wings & Things co-owner Steve Ehlen says the restaurant has contracted with his other business, Minnesota Sweeps, to run a promotion for them. The promotion is an electronic sweepstakes.

Ehlen says when you buy something at the store, you will get some sweepstakes entries.  But, Ehlen says like with any sweepstakes, there is no purchase necessary to enter. Patrons can then use one of the computer terminals in the store to check their entries or just surf the web.

Ehlen says Minnesota Sweeps is a marketing and promotions company that will work with other businesses who want to have an electronic sweepstakes promotion too.
