ST. CLOUD - A St. Cloud man who had a vision for storing information in a different way has been honored with a statewide award.

Scott Warzecha, the President and Founder of Netgain in St. Cloud, has been named the Minnesota Small Business Person Of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration.

The award is based on growth in sales, increase in the number of employees, financial strength, innovativeness of product, and contributions to community.

Warzecha's vision of cloud computing was thought of as just a fad back in 2000, today it's the norm.  Netgain focuses their services on the health care industry, especially small hospitals and rural clinics that are large enough to need things like electronic medical records, and networked computer systems.  The company has grown from just over 50 employees in 2011 to almost 100 today.

Warzecha will be honored in Minneapolis on May 6th.
