ST. PAUL (AP) -- Want to marry a love for history and a high-tech tendency? There will soon be an app for that.

The Minnesota Historical Society hopes to have an iPhone application by next April that puts destination details at a person's fingertips. The app will dovetail with a new book that identifies 52 destinations for parents and kids to explore together.

The publishing arm of the historical society has put out a call for help in developing the phone application. It wants an app that is "aesthetically pleasing, engaging and simple to use."

The goal is to let people search for images and destination information based on text in the book.
