ST. PAUL  (AP) - Minnesota star forward Trevor Mbakwe has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of violating a harassment restraining order.

He was on crutches Monday as he appeared before Ramsey County District Judge Judith Tilsen. He's out for the season after injuring his right knee last month.

Mbakwe admitted sending a Facebook message to an ex-girlfriend last January. His attorney, Laura Nolen, says he thought the order expired after one year, but it actually was for two years.

He was sentenced to the one day he has served in jail, one year probation and fined $300. His attorney will seek to get the charge dismissed after his probation ends providing he stays law-abiding, has no contact with the woman and takes a domestic abuse course.
