ST. CLOUD -- A man who was accused of breaking into a St. Cloud man's home and beating him in June has pleaded guilty to attempted first-degree murder and kidnapping.

21-year-old Corey Becker of Grand Rapids pleaded guilty through a "Norgaard" plea which means he acknowledges the evidence in the case, but doesn't remember his actions because he was intoxicated. Becker claimed he didn't remember the attack because he was drunk on tequila.

Stearns County prosecutor Josh Kannegieter says they will ask for an 18-year prison sentence, but says Becker will ask for a lesser sentence at his January sentencing date.

Becker was accused of breaking into the man's home, beating him, choking him and demanding sex from the victim. Becker admitted not knowing the victim and having never been in his house prior to the incident.
