If you are someone who loves to go camping but you also love a great winery, you will love this.  It gives you the best of both worlds.

Prairie Woods Farm Vinyards is just over an hour and a half from St. Cloud in the town of Lonsdale.

This area is a great getaway area to just hang out with the quiet, have a glass of wine and enjoy nature.  You can put away the hustle and bustle of city life, and just "be in a moment" without being all that far from said "city life".  Lonsdale is just south of Bloomington.

The vineyard itself is beautiful, too. It covers about two acres, growing grapes for local wineries. There are several in the area if you would like to check them out, as well as many craft breweries, nature areas, and more.

The vinyard does allow overnight guests, but they do only have one campsite.  They allow 6 visitors to stay over per night.  So, if this is something you would want to do, you would have to book that one ahead of time. Or, just enjoy the vinyard, and camp nearby.

If you want to do a wine tasting tour while in the area, there are a few other wineries that you may want to check out too.

Next Chapter in Montgomery, Vintage Escapes in Killkenny, Mousse sparkling wines in Jordan or Cannon Valley in Cannon Falls. A little farther is Chankaska Creek Ranch and Winery in Kasota (near Mankato).

This could be a great weekend getaway for a couple, girls weekend, or anyone.  Just plan it. Explore Minnesota, as they say.
