Kleis Presents Preliminary Budget and Levy for 2013

ST. CLOUD -- St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis has presented the city council with the 2013 preliminary budget and levy Monday night.

Kleis says the proposed 2013 levy is the same as in 2012 and spending is actually lower under his plan.   The mayor is proposing spending nearly $70-million in 2013, a 2.77 % decrease from the 2012 budget.

The preliminary tax levy is equal to that in 2012 at just under $21-million.

The plan still needs to be approved by the council and a truth-in-taxation hearing will be required before it becomes a reality.
