Benton County will spend slightly more in 2018 under their budget plan. The budget calls for a 1.3% increase in the tax levy, but that increase will be offset by an anticipated 5% increase in the county tax base.
Benton County residents shouldn't see much change in the county portion of their property taxes next year. Commissioners will consider a 2016 budget proposal Tuesday which would decrease the county's levy by one-half-percent.
Stearns County Commissioners have approved some fee increases to better help cover the costs of providing services. The change averages out to be about a 2.9% increase.

Stearns County will collect less taxes next year after the board of commissioners voted on a 1% decrease in the 2012 budget. The board had three options to choose from including a 1% increase, a 1/3% decrease and a 1% decrease.
