Jump in a Lake for a Good Cause, Polar Plunge in Town Saturday
ST. CLOUD -- Get wet, cold and help Special Olympics at the same time this weekend by hopping into Pleasant Lake for the Polar Plunge.
The 400 Club Coyote Moon Style will be hosting the event, which kicks off at noon Saturday. Steve Soyka is the Vice-President for the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 17. He says this event not only helps a great cause but lets cops show their love of community.
"This is a way we hope can show we're here for the community and a positive thing."
As of now, 365 people have pre-registered, raising over $30,000. Soyka says based on the past, this is a great measure of how giving St. Cloud is.
"We've usually turned in large numbers of jumpers in the St. Cloud one compared to other locations, and usually are in the top five for the dollar value raised."
If you'd like to register on-site, they'll have that set up at 10:00 a.m. Saturday. You can still register online.
