The Gophers made short work of the Nittany Lions on senior day at Williams Arena Saturday afternoon.The Minnesota Gopher men's basketball team took down lowly Penn State 77-44 at Williams Arena on Saturday. Senior Trevor Mbakwe led the way for Minnesota in the win with 13 points and 13 rebounds.

Minnesota's defense stifled Penn State in the first half in only allowing 12 points on five field goals for a 34-12 halftime lead.

It was more of the same in the second half with the Nittany Lions never getting closer than 22 points behind the Gophers.

Julian Welch had a strong game for Minnesota with 10 points and seven assists with no turnovers.
