Get To Know the Newest Automotive Shop in Rice
Rice Minnesota is home to some awfully nice people. I met a good number of them on Saturday at Rice’s news automotive shop, Top Point Automotive.
The new shop held a community, “get to know you” day on Saturday from 12-5. The population of Rice is just over 1,900, and it seemed like most of the town came by at some point Saturday.
Cole, who is one of the owners, along with his partners and staff served hamburgers and hot dogs, chips, beans and water to anyone who wanted it, for free of course.
They also brought out a couple of inflatable obstacle courses for the kids to spend their time on, and boy did they. There were so many kids that played on those two inflatables, and they were so exhausted when they were done, Saturday was probably one of the quietest nights in Rice Minnesota history with all the kids going to bed early.
There were other games and fun, and each adult was given a registration ticket to enter to win a pair of tickets to see the Vikings play.
When I asked Cole to talk about the business and what customers could expect when they bring their vehicles in for work, he was pretty clear on the shop's mission.
“We’ll offer all around repair work, just no body or glass work” Cole said. “Any engine, suspension, braking problem you have, we’re an honest, friendly and reliable source for you”.
The shop opened their doors for the first time on Monday and will be open 7:30-5:30 Monday-Friday.
Cole said they would be offering additional “free” type items ongoing at Top Point Automotive. They are located at 4th Ave. NW in Rice, behind Old Creamery Cafe.
