ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - St. Paul police are investigating a fight that broke out after the funeral of a 16-year-old shot by a man he reportedly was trying to rob at gunpoint.

After Lavauntai Broadbent's funeral Thursday, reports say people gathered at Cherokee Park and later started fighting.

Police spokesman Steve Linders says a 23-year-old had been injured but his injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.

Broadbent died July 31. The man accused of shooting Broadbent says a robber demanded he empty his pockets at gunpoint.

The man, who has a permit to carry a gun, shot the robber - later identified as Broadbent - saying he feared for his life.

Police have said the man has cooperated, and they presented the case to prosecutors Friday.
