Father, Son, Neighbor Killed in Mora Fire

MORA  (AP) - Family and friends say a father, his sixth-grade son and a neighbor died in the fire that swept an apartment building in the small Kanabec County community of Mora. A fourth person was critically injured.

Acquaintances say 48-year-old Michael Caley was raising the boy, Coleman, and his 13-year-old daughter on his own after the children's mother died three years ago in December. His close friend, Bill Grunow, says Caley was firm but very loving to his children.

Gary Norling says his wife of 45 years, Shirley, is the third victim of the deadly fire. Norling says the shock of losing his wife hasn't set in yet. Authorities told him the 68-year-old woman died of smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire in the community of 3,500 remains under investigation.
