DEERWOOD, Minn. (AP) - A Crow Wing County family narrowly escaped serious injuries when a large tree crushed their mobile home.

The pine tree was toppled during storms overnight Sunday, trapping Tyler and Alexis Saxton and their 2-year son, Curtis, when the roof came down on top of them.

Alexis says she couldn't move her head or arms and that she was on top of her son. Tyler says they could hear the wind and rain and were afraid more trees would fall.

The couple figures the tree that trapped them probably prevented the powerful wind from blowing down their mobile home. Emergency responders eventually freed the family and they were taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries.

Alexis says it was the scariest day of her life.
