ST. CLOUD -- The St. Cloud Economic Development Authority is considering a request to buy the former Tri-CAP building located at 700 West St. Germain Street.

The St. Cloud Metropolitan Transit Commission wants to buy the three-story building and use it for regional training for system operators and users.

The main floor and basement would house the training operation while the second floor would be available for lease.

The city would sell the building for $10,000 to recoup the cost of utilities and repairs while the building has been vacant for the past 18 months.

The MTC is looking for Community Development Block Grant money to upgrade the elevator system.

If the EDA agrees to the sale it must still be approved by the city council.
