ST. CLOUD -- An early morning house fire in St. Cloud is believed to have caused an estimated $50,000 in damage.

The St. Cloud Fire Department was called around 2:30 a.m. to 2216 10th Avenue South. Firefighter Jerry Raymond says the fire broke out in the basement.

Fire alarms alerted the two home owners and their grandson who got outside safely and called 911. Firefighters from St. Cloud and St. Augusta had the blaze contained in about ten minutes. The cause of the fire is still under investigation but it's believed to have been accidental.

The American Red Cross is assisting the family with emergency relief efforts.
