ST. CLOUD - This is likely going to be one of the driest Septembers ever in St. Cloud.

So far this month, we've only had .24" of an inch of rain.  If we don't get any rain before Sunday, and there's none in the forecast, this will be our second driest September on record.  In September of 1952 St. Cloud only had .07".

In a normal September, we'd have about 2.85".

Additionally, we've had less than an inch-and-a-half of rain in August and September combined.

A weekly update on U.S. drought conditions shows the nation's worst drought in decades slightly worsened in the lower 48 states with the Midwest corn harvest in full swing.

The U.S. Drought Monitor's new map posted Thursday shows 65.5 percent of the contiguous U.S. was experiencing some form of drought as of Tuesday, up from 64.8 percent a week earlier.
