Drivers Urged To Use Care On Superior Forest Roads

DULUTH (AP) - The U.S. Forest Service says visitors should be careful driving on roads in the Superior National Forest this spring.

Melting snow along with partially thawed conditions are making for hazardous driving in some areas.

Some hazards include soft roadbeds, washouts on roads and water across roads.

The Forest Service says these conditions are widespread across the forest and may last for two to three weeks, depending on the weather.

Officials say if you come across these conditions, it's better to turn around than risk getting stuck in the mud or trapped in deep or moving water.
