SARTELL -- Despite the recent rain, officials with the Minnesota Department of Transportation plan to open the Diverging Diamond Interchange this week.

Project Manager Tim Paul says they plan to open the interchange at Highway 15 and Stearns County Road 120 at 10:00 a.m. Thursday.

Paul says the recent rain held them back from finishing the final turf establishment, but not enough to prevent it from opening to traffic. He says you'll notice some workers in the area putting some final touches on the project after it opens.

Among the remaining items are the removal of the Highway 15/23rd Street signal light, minor sign changes and turf development.

Originally, the interchange was scheduled to open October 21st.
