ST. CLOUD -- From live music, to face painting and a drag show, the St. Cloud Pride has a number of family-friendly activities for you and your family.

Vendors, families and the community came together today (Saturday) to celebrate the seventh annual Pride in the Park at Lake George/Eastman Park.

As the community celebrated the seventh annual event, Jim Beck, a member of the St. Cloud Pride board says today was also a day to reflect on how far they have come.

"In the last seven years, we have seen a lot of change. You know our first pride we had like 30 vendors, and this year we are way over 70. We are so proud of everyone coming out and showing their support says Beck"

As the event continues to grow, Beck and the rest of the board members hope the community can continue coming together and supporting each other.

"I think it is a god teaching event. We see a lot of families showing their kids to be supportive and that's a great message to give. It is important for everyone to love one another and be proud of who you are. No matter what you identify as"

This year's theme is show your colors, Beck encourages everyone to come out, be themselves and be proud of who you are.

Aziza Mohamed is an intern for the Human Rights Department. Although, this is her first time attending, the Human Rights Department and the Human Rights Commission have been supporters of St. Cloud Pride. Mohamed says her being here is important because her goal is to help people.

"For me, this is what I am hoping to work towards. I want to help people with whatever they need. It doesn't matter what religion, race, or sexual orientation. I just want to help people says, Mohamed.

Last year, over five thousand people attended St. Cloud Pride and Beck is hoping to top that number this year.

If you are sitting at home with nothing to do Beck says, come out and bring your family and friends, show your support, show your pride, and show your colors. The event runs until 4:00 p.m.
