RICE -- A childhood book comes to life for the students at Rice Elementary.

The school kicks off their 'One District, One Book' campaign featuring the book "The Mouse and the Motorcycle," by Beverley Cleary.

Christina Bemboom is the Principal of Rice Elementary. She says what better way to peak the students interest in the book than with a real motorcycle.

"Our staff do a great job every year of finding something creative to grab kids attention and the motorcycle was a great touch," says Bemboom.

This is the fifth year of the One District, One Book campaign.

Bemboom says it's important for parents, grandparents and teachers to provide all opportunities for kids to read.

"Being a good reader by the 3rd or 4th grade just really opens up doors for kids," says Bemboom.

Seth Walton is the General Manager of Vikingland Harley-Davidson in Sauk Rapids. He says the day was just as special for him as it was for the students.

"We made the most of our time here today and I think these kids will remember it," says Walton.

The campaign is the kickoff to 'I Love to Read Month' which starts Wednesday.
