The Foley baseball team lost 6-0 Friday at Target Field in the Class AA State Tournament Championship game. William Haas threw a complete game 1-hit shutout for Rockford. Trey Emmerich threw 3 2/3 innings with 7 hits and 6 runs allowed (2 earned) to take the loss.

The Foley Falcons are scheduled to play Rockford Friday at 1 p.m. at Target Field for the Class 2-A State Championship. The Falcons advanced to this point with wins over Zumbrota-Mazeppa 6-5 and Esko 4-0 at Dick Putz Field in St. Cloud last week in the Class AA State Quarterfinals and Semifinals.

The St. Cloud Crush lost 6-5 to Minnetonka in 9 innings in the Class 4-A State Tournament Consolation Semifinals at Palm Field in St. Anthony. Minnetonka went out to a 2-1 lead in the 3rd inning before St. Cloud mounted their comeback.

Foley defeated top seeded Esko 4-0 in the Class 2-A State Tournament semifinals at Dick Putz Field Friday. Foley scored 2 runs in the 1st inning, 1 in the 2nd and added an insurance run in the 6th inning.

Foley came from down 5-3 in the 7th inning to defeat Zumbrota-Mazeppa 6-5 Thursday night at Dick Putz Field in the Class 2-A State Tournament quarterfinals. Foley tied the game at 3 apiece in the 3rd inning after Zumbrota-Mazeppa ran out to a 3-0 lead.

The St. Cloud Crush lost 6-5 to top seeded and unbeaten Wayzata Thursday at CHS Field in St. Paul in the Class 4-A State Tournament Quarterfinals. The Crush fell behind 3-0 in the 2nd inning but rallied with a run in the 3rd inning on a RBI single from Max Kiffmeyer.

The Class 2-A State boys and girls golf meet was shortened to 9 holes after a 4-hour weather delay. The Cathedral boys golf team finished 8th with a 2-round total of 490 after shooting a 159 Wednesday.

The Cathedral boys golf team is in 8th place after the first day of the Class 2-A State Golf Meet at the Ridges at Sand Creek in Jordan. Tuesday was the first day of the competition with Wednesday as the final day in all 3 classes for boys and girls golf.

The Foley baseball team is making their 2nd straight Class 2-A State Tournament appearance this week when they play Zumbrota-Mazeppa at Dick Putz Field in St. Cloud at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

The Cathedral softball team finished off the season with a 3-1 win over St. Agnes Friday afternoon at Caswell Park in North Mankato.
