Earlier this week Emmett Keenan and Julie Murphy each received promotions at St. Cloud Catholic Community Schools and Cathedral High School. Keenan joined me on WJON to talk about his new title, which will take hold starting July 1.

The Cathedral Girls Golf team finished 7th among 17 teams at the Milaca Invite. The meet was played in a 6-6-6 format. The team of Cammy Sand and Averie Andvik carded an 86 to finish 10th overall. Abby Silver and Natalie Granowski shot a 93.

Former St. Cloud State basketball player Forrest Witt is offering basketball camps in the St. Cloud area including one at Whitney Recreation Center July 16-18. Witt is the current Alexandria High School basketball coach who led the Cardinals to the State Tournament in 2023 and advanced to the State Tournament last month.

BECKER BULLDOGS 8 MONTICELLO MAGIC 4 The Bulldogs defeated their Mississippi 8 Conference rivals the Magic, they out hit them nine to four, including a pair of big home runs. The Bulldogs put up two runs in the second, third and the fifth innings. The starting pitcher for the Bulldogs was Kellen Kraning, he threw 5 1/3 innings to earn the win. He gave up three hits, four runs, five walks and he recorded six strikeouts.
