Young kids are more skilled at using the internet than ever before, and the Better Business Bureau has tips for parents on how to teach their kids how to stay safe online.

According to a study by the Neilsen Norman Group, kids as young as 9 years old are becoming more skilled than the average adult when it comes to surfing the net. And while they may be great with computers, they might not easily understand online threats, including fraud or predators.

The Better Business Bureau of Minnesota and North Dakota recommends teaching your kids to avoid certain red flag internet situations: Websites that ask for full names, financial information, home addresses or social security numbers, strangers who send or ask for pictures, or suggest a meet-up, harassment or bullying through social networking sites, friend requests from people they don't know, and  sites that offer "free services" or "free ringtones."

The Better Business Bureau also suggests making sure your kids know that they should always come and talk with you if they feel confused by something online.
