FOLEY -- Benton County is using a Parks and Trails Legacy grant to make some improvements at the Bend in the River Regional Park near Rice.

County Administrator Monty Headley says the $280-thousand award is a huge financial shot-in-the-arm for the county's efforts to further develop the 289-acre park.

He says because it sits along the Mississippi River, they want to create some scenic overlooks.

Headley says they will also build bathroom facilities, add interpretive signage and connect trails.

The park is located about a mile south of Rice
