BECKER - Becker school district residents have three questions to vote on during Tuesday's election.

The first one is a $1.4 million operating levy for 10 years, which would maintain existing student programs.

Becker Superintendent Stephen Malone says the second question would increase funding to bring back some programs.

So the Becker school district has reduced our budget by $2.5 million over the last five years. And, we've had to eliminate a number of programs and opportunities for students. Question 2 would bring back some programs and options for students in the amount of $200,000.

And the third question is for a $3 million bond referendum for facility upgrades, including installing artificial turf on the football field.

Question 1 has to pass in order for questions 2 and 3 to be approved.

If all three questions pass, property taxes on a $150,000 home in the Becker school district will increase by a little over $182 a year.

Voting will be Tuesday from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center lobby.

St. Cloud, Kimball, and Eden Valley-Watkins school districts also have operating levy and/or bonding referendums on the ballot on Tuesday.
