WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Republican controlled House has passed another bill putting offshore oil and gas drilling on the fast track.  The latest measure gives the government a maximum of 60 days to decide whether a company can drill.  After that, the permit is automatically approved.

Sixth District Congresswoman Michele Bachmann voted in favor of the bill.  She says the United States has more resources than any other nation, and it's time to start tapping into them.

Bachmann criticized the White House for recently giving $2 billion to Brazil to increase their off shore drilling, and another $3 billion to Columbia to build more refineries.  She says that's money that should have been spent here at home.

This new bill still needs to be passed by the Senate before it can go to the President.
