St. Cloud has always been a second home to me. After growing up in the town of Paynesville, I moved to Sartell to begin my college career at St. Cloud State University, majoring in Mass Communications. In my time there I mostly focused on the television side of things, spending most of my time with the campus television station UTVS. While at UTVS I did many roles such as news anchor, reporter and sports anchor for our many live newscasts. I even did play by play for the football and basketball games that we had televised. However, I didn’t just limit myself to television. While putting myself through school I worked with Leighton Broadcasting in their sports department, doing many things behind the scenes and over the air. Upon my graduation from St. Cloud State in 2012, I began to find that first opportunity to enter the broadcast journalism world and to my excitement landed here at WJON as a field reporter/news anchor. I love what I do and can honestly say that I never think of my job as work. While I cover all news in our listening area, my main beats are Waite Park, Sartell, Sartell-St. Stephen School District, Rice and Arts/Entertainment. I am also the host of Rush Hour weeknights from 5p-6pm. Feel free to message me for any possible story ideas. Outside of the news room my pastimes include sports, music, hanging with my family and just enjoying the great Minnesota weather.
