ST. CLOUD - With two feet of snow in April, we broke the record for snowfall for the month.

The St. Cloud State University weather summary says we officially received 24.4 inches of snow at the St. Cloud Regional Airport, that's the highest April snowfall since records began in 1904.  It bested the old record of 15.6 inches from 1928 by nine inches.

The heavy snow in April pushed the season total to 78.5 inches, the fourth highest total in St. Cloud history. This is the most snow since the 1964-1965 season.

Our average snowfall is 46.1 inches.

All of this snow is also keeping our temperatures down, the average temperature in St. Cloud in April was 36.2 degreees, 8.3 degrees cooler than average.
