All Gold N’ Plump Chicken Will Soon Be Free of Antibiotics
ST. CLOUD - A St. Cloud based chicken producer is scrapping antibiotics from all of its products over the next few years.
GNP Company has already released several products with "No Antibiotics Ever" and "Animal Humane Certified" labels. The company says by 2019, their entire line of retail and deli products will have the labels.
In a news release, Brand Manager for Gold N' Plump, Rory Bidinger, says the demand for products raised humanely and without antibiotics is growing. The company says its chicken brand will be one of the first to transition its entire product line to be raised without antibiotics of any kind.
GNP Company is also working to make their labels easier to understand. A recent Gold N' Plump study says 62 percent of Minnesota shoppers are confused by chicken package claims.
They have locations in Cold Spring, Luverne and St. Cloud.
