Pilgrim’s Pride Finalizes GNP Acquisition, Eliminates 30 Jobs
ST. CLOUD - Pilgrim's Pride has officially bought GNP company, and as a result some jobs have been eliminated. Pilgrim's Pride finalized the acquisition on Friday.
Tuesday Pilgrim's Pride CEO Bill Lovette released a statement saying, "about 30 corporate-based positions were eliminated as part of a workforce rationalization plan. This plan has no impact on production facilities or family farm partners and we do not anticipate significant workforce changes going forward."
Spokeswoman Lexann Reischl confirms to WJON most of the 30 eliminated positions were in the St. Cloud and Cold Spring offices.
GNP still has more than 1,700 team members and 400 family farm partners.
Pilgrim's Pride previously announced back in November an agreement to acquire GNP in an all cash $350 million transaction.
