Abandoned Bird Nest Caused Fire that Destroyed St. Cloud Home
ST. CLOUD - A bird nest is said to be the cause of a fire that destroyed a St. Cloud home on Saturday.
The fire happened at about 12:45 a.m. at 610 7th Avenue North.
An abandoned bird nest was on top of a dual porch floodlight, causing it to start on fire. The light has been on for an hour before the fire started.
The damage to the home was estimated at about $140,000.
This is now the second fire this summer from a birds nest on an exterior light. The first happened to a garage on 30th Avenue North in St. Cloud on June 25th.
