KIMBALL - This week we continue our tour of area communities in our "Your Town Tuesday" series on WJON with a stop in Kimball.

The Kimball Area schools have a new superintendent. Jim Wagner took over the job on July 1st. He may be familiar to St. Cloud residents, because he's a former science teacher at Apollo High School. He's spent the past several years as an assistant principal and principal at various other schools.

Wagner says Kimball is a growing school district, and they've had to add sections in their kindergarten and 5th grades.

Wagner says they have the space in the building, thanks to an expansion about five years ago. He says they're benefitting from open-enrollment.

The Kimball Area School district is averaging about 55 to 70 kids in each grade level.

One of his first goals as the superintendent is to create a fitness center for the students, and also for the community.

Wagner says they're going to start raising the money for the fitness equipment this fall. He says he's hoping to have the fitness center up and running by this spring.

Wagner is also adding Advanced Placement classes in the high school. Right now Kimball doesn't offer any AP courses.

Coming-up next week in our "Your Town Tuesday" series, we'll be heading to the community of Clear Lake.
