New During Wild Games – Your Chance to Win Up to $50K

Everyone likes to win money, right?  That is a pretty fair assumption.  When Grand Casino bought the naming rights to the former Xcel Energy Center, I think most of us wondered how long it would take before the time would come before some sort of gambling would be coming to the arena.

Gambling is still illegal in Minnesota - except for charitable gambling such as pull-tabs and e-tabs, or if you are on a reservation.  So, how can you introduce gambling during WILD games?  It's a form of pull-tabs.

HOW WILL THE PULL-TABS WORK DURING WILD GAMES

The Minnesota Wild Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, today announced that is has been granted a charitable gambling license from the State of Minnesota. Beginning March 1, 2026.

HOW DO YOU WIN UP TO 50K

According to the Minnesota Wild website, this is how this type of gambling will work duirng the Wild games:

• The Minnesota Wild Foundation will be the sole beneficiary of proceeds generated through these activities.
• Net proceeds from charitable gambling activities will directly support the Wild Foundation’s grant program supporting community hockey and children’s medical related causes.
• Participants in the Minnesota Wild Foundation’s Split the Pot Raffle will now be eligible to win up to $50,000 per night, subject to applicable prize limits and game rules.
• In accordance with state regulations, fans will now have the option to use debit cards, in addition to cash, to make charitable gambling purchases at Minnesota Wild events.
• The Minnesota Wild Foundation is also eagerly working on plans to expand its fund-generating programing by adding Pull Tab sales, expected to launch later this season for Wild games at Grand Casino Arena.

So, all proceeds will go to the Minnesota Wild Foundation - so if you are choosing to gamble, you know that it's all going to a great cause.  But, you could also win some significant money.

There is also that change regarding debit cards.  No more using cash as a mandatory way to purchase the special pull-tabs.  So that is a change.  And it's much more convenient.  Probably goes along with the fact that the arena is cash free for everything else, so they needed to have that debit card option in case you don't bring any cash with you to a game. Because, in a normal circumstance, why would you bring cash?
