ST. PAUL (AP) -- Two Minnesota Democrats host "Congress on Your Corner" events Friday, six days after a shooting in Tucson, Ariz., killed six and seriously wounded Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.

Rep. Tim Walz visits with constituents at a Mankato grocery store, while Rep. Keith Ellison sets up shop at an international bazaar in Minneapolis.

Both Minnesota members are in the same class in Congress as Giffords, serving their third terms.

Ellison says his event will honor Giffords and other victims of Saturday's shooting. He will collect messages to deliver to Giffords' Washington office and says security is coordinated with local law enforcement.

Walz says hearing from his constituents is the cornerstone of democracy.

Walz represents southern Minnesota's 1st District. Ellison represents the 5th District in Minneapolis and nearby suburbs.
