SAINT CLOUD -- Two St. Cloud schools had to be locked down yesterday while police searched for a St. Cloud man with an outstanding warrant. Police first found 26-year-old Jami Tjernagel driving on Highway 10 at East St. Germain Street around 3:00 p.m.

Tjernagel was known to have a felony warrant, no drivers license and to be in possession of guns. Therefore, police attempted to pull him over. He led them on a short car chase to 7th street and 13th Avenue South. There Tjernagel and his passenger, 22-year-old Roger Jackson of Brooten, fled on foot.

Jackson was caught but Tjernagel kept running. Tech High School and South Junior High had to be placed on locked down as they searched for him. He was later found by a canine unit hiding in a garage on 13th Avenue South.

Tjernagel and Jackson are being held in the Stearns County Jail awaiting charges.
