Imagine turning on the faucet and having no water. Or going to the grocery store and finding the shelves completely empty. These scenarios are what the American Red Cross face nearly every day during the summer. Today, they’re celebrating World Blood Donor Day to remind you to donate. All types of blood are needed, but they’re especially looking for O-positive, O-negative, A-negative and B-negative types to help ensure a sufficient blood supply for patients.

In honor of World Blood Donor Day, the Red Cross has partnered with Nexcare for the “give” campaign to thank blood and platelet donors with a collection of limited edition fashion bandages nationwide while supplies last. The “give” bandages are a fun way to help spread the word about the need for blood this summer, and donors throughout the community will be sporting these fashion accessories with pride on World Blood Donor Day.

To donate today, please stop by the St. Cloud Blood Donation Center from 1:00 – 7:00 p.m…located at 1301 West St. Germain Street.
