ST. JOSEPH -- From pianos on the frontier to contemporary sacred compositions, the exhibit on the St. Benedict's Monastery musical heritage is on display at the Haehn Museum.

The exhibit "Resounding Joy: Our Music Heritage" includes a lot of old instruments including several that date back to before Minnesota was even a state.

Director Sister Moira Wild says in 1948 there were 76 sisters teaching music in 66 towns and cities across the upper Midwest.

Besides the sisters having a long connection to teaching music to area youth, they were also involved in the restoration of the Gregorian Chant.

If you want to see the exhibit for yourself, it's on display now through the end of the year.  The Haehn Museum is free and open to everyone.  The hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00 until 3:30 p.m.
