St. Cloud lost 8-7 to Grand Rapids in the VFW State Tournament in Austin today. The loss is their 2nd and eliminates them from the tourney. St. Cloud led 6-2 in the 5th before Grand Rapids scored 5 runs in the 6th inning to take a 7-6 lead.
Sartell Wins Again in VFW State Tourney
Sartell defeated Maple Grove 13-3 today in Austin in their 2nd game at the VFW State Tournament in Austin, Minnesota. Wesley Johnson threw 5 2/3 innings with 6 hits and 3 runs allowed with 4 strikeouts to get the win. Sartell was led at the plate by Tory Lund with 3 of the team's 10 hits.

The St. Cloud VFW baseball team defeated Hermantown 10-6 Thursday night to stay alive in the double elimination State VFW baseball tournament in Austin, Minnesota. St. Cloud lost earlier in the day to Elk River 7-6 in their first game of the tournament. St. Cloud faces another must-win game today at 1:30 against the host team, Austin.

The St. Cloud lost 7-6 to Elk River Thursday in their first game at the VFW state tournament in Austin, Minnesota. St. Cloud was down 5-2 before scoring 4 runs in the 7th inning only to see Elk River score twice in the bottom of the 7th to pull out the win. St. Cloud plays a must-win game at 6:30 tonight.

The St. Cloud VFW baseball team earned a berth in Minnesota State VFW tournament after posting a victory over Cold Spring 13-11 Thursday night. The St. Cloud team will play August 12-15 in Austin, Minnesota in the state event.
