The Minnesota Twins win a playoff game for the first time in 18 years, and the fans celebrated in a big way.

Friday night's MN Twins win at Target Field was big. They clinched the American League Central securing a spot in the playoffs. New Homer Hanky Unveiled.

The St. Cloud Rox fell behind early 1-0 in the 2nd inning but scored 9 unanswered runs to win 9-1 over Duluth at home Tuesday night. The win gives the Rox a playoff spot as they still pursue the 2nd half title in the Great Plains West Division.

The Timberwolves lost game 1 at Denver Sunday to open their playoff series with the Nuggets. The Wild open their first round series at Dallas tonight at 8:30, pregame on AM 1390/93.9 FM Granite City Sports at 8:15.

The Minnesota Vikings are 4-5 after beating the Chargers in Los Angeles Sunday 27-20. Star Tribune Sports Columnist Jim Souhan joined me on WJON today. He says the NFC is very competitive for the last 2 playoff spots.

The Minnesota closed the season with a 7-3 loss at St. Louis Wednesday night. The Wild will matchup with Vegas in their first round best of 7 series starting Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m., pregame on AM 1390/93.9 FM Granite City Sports at 1:45. Game 2 is set for 9pm Tuesday, Game 3 will be in Minnesota Thursday at 8:30 with Game 4 set for Saturday May 22 at 7 p.m.

The Twins were eliminated from the playoffs Wednesday after losing 3-1 in Game 2 of their Wildcard playoff series with Houston. Star Tribune Sports Columnist Jim Souhan joined me on WJON today. He said the 16-game postseason losing streak may have entered their minds and effected them in this series.

The Twins are back to back American League Central Division champs after the White Sox lost to the Cubs Sunday. The Twins lost 5-3 in 10 innings to the Reds Sunday but finish the regular season 36-24 and will head into the American League Wildcard playoffs as the #3 seed.
