Two local couples are pledging to match up to ten-thousand dollars each to the Local Education Activities Fund for their homeless student services fund for March and April.
The Local Education and Activities Foundation has announced its latest round of grants for programs in District 742. Executive Director Bruce Hentges says the fall grants are just over $20,000.
Thanks to a partnership and $15,000 gift from the St. Cloud Rotary Club, LEAF was able to expand its parents and kids reading aloud together (PAKRAT) program into the summer. The program gives books to kids who lack access to them in preschool through third grade.
The District 742 Local Education and Activities Foundation (LEAF) is partnering with the St. Cloud Rotary Club to expand a childhood reading program. A $15,000 gift from the St. Cloud Rotary Club and an additional $10,000 grant from LEAF will expand the Parents and Kids Reading Aloud Together program.
The St. Cloud Area School Board has voted to discontinue its revenue sharing policy with the Local Education Activities Foundation. Currently the district transfers $1 per every adult ticket, and .50-cents for each student ticket, to LEAF.
