Sartell officials were presented another draft of the city's 2016 budget and levy during tonight's (Monday) city council meeting. The preliminary budget is around $6.3-million, which is about $1.3-million more than last year.

Five Sartell police officers were honored this (Monday) evening for their roles in helping to deliver a baby and saving a life last month. Sergeant Kelly Mader, Officer Steve Matthews and Officer John Lester were presented with the Stork Award and Officers Rob Lyon and Kari Bonfield were honored with the Life Saving Award.

The Waite Park City Council will discuss the preliminary budget and levy for 2016 this (Monday) evening. The preliminary budget comes in just over $7.3-million, which is about an 8% increase over last year's budget.

Sartell officials have agreed to acquire one piece of land and sell another. During tonight's (Monday) special meeting the city council discussed in a closed session whether or not to sell about .75 acres of land at 632 Riverside Avenue South and purchase two other properties near Val Smith Park and Sauk River Regional Park.

Emotions ran high regarding where the proposed Sartell Community Center will sit. During tonight's (Monday) city council meeting, several members of the council were questioning on whether they were ready to move on with putting a final vote on the official site of the community center.

Safety concerns has lead to Waite Park staff looking at making some security upgrades inside city hall. During tonight's (Monday) work session the council went over bids on the proposed project.

Sartell residents should expect a few new detours along Pinecone road starting Monday. Pinecone Road from 7th Street North to Sundance Road will be closed to thru traffic beginning at 8:00 a.m.
